TaeKwonDo

James and Xiaoli started TaeKwonDo last week and last night they received their first stripe. They were happy to model for this picture.

It is at times like this that I look at them and think - their lives could have been so very different. Our first wish was this - that they would have never been abandonded. However, they were. We will never know what was going through the minds of their parents. We do know that raising a deaf child in China is not easy. It is a huge sacrifice. If their parents were migrant farmers, they probably felt like they were doing something that was in the best interest of their children.

The second thought I have is this: what would my life be like without them right now. God has taught me so much over the past three years. It is truly hard to put it into words.

So for now - be careful not to sneak up on one of these two! You just might get a karate kick to the ankle!
